106: Development of Parametric Algorithms For Hbim: An Approach Based On Shape Grammar
This paper proposes a methodology for the development of parametric elements within the context of HBIM (Historic Building Information Modeling), based on shape grammar. Starting from the limitations of native BIM libraries in addressing the specificities of heritage buildings, the study analyzes the mathematical rules and regulating lines present in modernist architectural designs. The choice of Modern Architecture stems from Le Corbusier’s emphasis on pure geometries and proportional systems. As a case study, an algorithm was developed to generate a structural grid based on the proportions adopted by Jorge Machado Moreira in the design of the former National Faculty of Architecture. The algorithms, implemented in GDL and Dynamo, feature a parametric structure that allows adaptation to different geometric contexts. The results demonstrate the feasibility of creating flexible geometric models capable of meeting the specific requirements of architectural heritage documentation and preservation.
