126: Appropriation of Ai As A Tool In The Creative Process: Reflections Based On A Teaching Experience
To address the challenge of incorporating artificial intelligence into the design process in architecture, urbanism, and design, three sequentially structured dynamics were proposed within undergraduate courses involving different groups. The aim was to evolve from validating AI as a representation tool, to a creation tool based on conceptual ideas, and finally, to a tool to enhance formal design references. The intention was not to test specific AI tools, but rather to apply them generically, with various tools, often suggested by the participants of the activities. Above all, the objective was to spark reflection on topics such as ethics, plagiarism, and, fundamentally, the quality of project deliverables in both academic undergraduate settings and professional practice. The results demonstrated the potential of these AI tools and the pedagogical paths to be taken in empowering students' forms of expression.
