150: Synergistic and Viable Coupling Between The Cybernetic Metamodel, Artifact Validation, and The Hdim Workflow
This article explores the synergistic coupling between Stafford Beer's Viable System Model (VSM), artifact typification from Design Science Research (DSR), and the Dezen-Kempter’s workflow of Historic District Information Modeling (HDIM). Originating from doctoral research, this investigation proposes a multi- and interscalar metamodeling process for heritage inventorying at various levels of detail and development, seeking maximum interoperability. The study details the five subsystems of the VSM and their correlations with the artifact typification phases of DSR (Constructs, Models, Methods, Instantiations, and Design Propositions). The inputs and outputs of the process, data sources, and digital platforms used are presented, culminating in the description and validation of six artifactual experiments that confirm the methodological synergy for the prospecting of "heritage becoming" and the continuity of multi-purpose cadastral surveying.
