191: Immersive Sketching In Virtual Reality As A Design Process: An Experience In Campana's Park (brotas - Brazil)
This article investigates the potential of a blended creative design process that integrates analog, digital and virtual representations - freehand drawing, immersive digital sketching in virtual reality and 3D printing prototyping - in architectural education. The study consists of qualitative and experimental research, using the Design Science Research (DSR) methodology. The aim was to establish a creative cyclical protocol that considers observation, three-dimensional creation, prototyping and evaluation. To this end, a dissemination course was developed for undergraduate and postgraduate students, as well as professional architects. Structured in four meetings, the course proposed the design of an Incident Object to be placed in the pavilions at Campana’s Park, located in Brotas, Brazil. The activities resulted in a blended creative design process, with dynamic translations between modes of representation, contributing to spatial exploration, which is fundamental to teaching architectural design.
