192: Cognitive Ecosystem For Lifecycle-Adaptive and Sustainable 3d Concrete Printing

3D concrete printing (3DCP) has transformative potential for sustainable construction but remains fragmented across distinct research domains. Current approaches lack integration of design, materials, fabrication, and lifecycle management. This paper introduces a Cognitive Ecosystem an AI-powered framework that unifies generative design, smart and nano engineered materials, adaptive robotics, real time quality assurance, and digital lifecycle management. It's based on a thorough review of existing research and it combines ideas from computational intelligence and material science to closed feedback loops in design and production. It is shown in a smart pedestrian bridge scenario, which illustrates how cognitive workflows enhance adaptability and circularity. By treating structures like living systems that learn and evolve, the framework changes construction from being a static process to an intelligent, adaptive lifecycle process. This helps us create buildings that are environmentally friendly and can withstand disasters.
