207: Development of Computational Thinking In Design Education: A Study and Application In The Field of Architecture
This article aims to structure, implement, and evaluate a curriculum that incorporates Computational Thinking into the field of design. The research employs methodological tools such as a bibliographic review, and the consequent inductive method, culminating in action research. As outcomes of the study, a plan for a discipline was developed for a course in a Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture and Urbanism, where the proposed approach is being effectively applied. Additionally, computational artifacts and dynamic activities were created to be implemented during the course. The results indicate the potential for developing Computational Thinking within the formative process of designers, particularly through the pillar of Abstraction and the combined use of visual programming and textual programming resources.
