33: A Form Design and Making Library Based On Contemporary Practices For Use In The Architectural Design Process

This study introduces a form design and making library rooted in contemporary architectural practices, positioning form as a dynamic, evolving process rather than a fixed, static output. A classification system is proposed along two axes: Material vs. Immaterial methods and Static vs. Dynamic approaches. Using hyperbolic paraboloid geometry as a base, experimental sets were developed through different techniques. The analysis showed that each method engages differently with material, time, and transformation. Dynamic and material-based approaches, in particular, proved effective in generating adaptive forms. The resulting library functions as a useful reference for both research and design practice.
