391: Appropiationisms: The Image As A Reproduction Device In Design Processes Mediated By Digital Technologies
We can say Appropriationism in contemporary art and design (Owen, Brea, Buchloh) has become a recurrent way of reusing and resignifying images to generate new projects or creations. Considering these practices in relation to new technologies (Benjamin) allows us to reflect on issues such as manipulation, resignification, and redistribution in digital environments. The question of citation or copy is not new and lies in the blurred line between original creation and reuse of visual content in today’s technological context. This paper discusses how digital tools are transforming appropriationist practices in creative fields, which have gained prominence in recent years.
