96: Design, Text and Image: Exploring The Role of Text-To-Image In Architectural Pedagogy
This study investigates the impact of text-to-image tools on architectural design education, focusing on their influence on students’ creativity. A test involving 22 second-year architecture students assessed four creativity criteria: fluency, flexibility, originality, and elaboration. Participants were divided into groups using different reference sources, including AI tools. Results suggest that text-to-image tools may enhance originality but show performance similar to traditional methods regarding other creativity aspects. Discrepancies between self-assessment and expert evaluation highlight the importance of critical tool usage. The findings underscore the potential and limitations of AI in early design stages and call for further research with larger samples.
